Why Does a T-Shirt Hang Off a Lean Frame?
Because the shoulder seam has landed on your upper arm instead of the corner of your shoulder bone. Once that seam drops the sleeve drops with it, the armhole opens up, and the body reads loose even where the fabric is right.
Stand side on in a mirror and find the seam. On a lean frame it usually sits an inch or more past the bone, and the sleeve then ends below mid bicep with a fold of empty fabric behind it. Which Tees Make a Lean Frame Look Thinner?
Thin, drapey fabric and a wide, shallow neckline. Both let the shirt fall straight off your collarbone instead of catching on your shoulder, and an unbroken vertical reads as narrow rather than lean.
Weight does more here than cut does. A flimsy tee clings in two places and floats everywhere else, which draws the eye to the gaps.
